Banana Split
For my senior design course I was tasked with designing, building, and testing a remotely controlled aircraft capable of carrying payload at high speed while completing a mission route. Along with a team of six others I brought the design of the Banana Split from concept generation in SRDR, through CAD designs and XFLR simulations in PDR/CDR, and into a successful flight test after manufacturing the entire airframe and integrating COTS parts in-house.
As the only twin-engine design, the Banana Split out-performed the competition with a tested payload capacity of 432.6g payload (~3.666 medium bananas).
Our design also won 3rd Place in our end-of-semester poster presentation.
